When requested by the University, The UMW Foundation will occasionally serve as the project manager and financier for special construction projects. One of these projects was the 110,000 sf University Center on the UMW campus. This $58 million project was completed on time and was opened to students in the fall of 2015.
University Center
The Foundation was asked to partner with the University in designing and building the 110,000 sf University Center where Chandler Hall once stood. The project broke ground September 2013 and was completed on time in July 2015. The University Center provides a campus center that fosters a collaborative and respectful environment where extracurricular and academic pursuits merge. The building serves as the dining center for the University and also features a wide range of student offices, meeting rooms and a large ballroom for special events.
